Verity a movie with more questions than answers...

So I will admit I haven't read the book for this film... or seen a single trailer. I went into this film completely blind because outside it's been a long time since I've seen a movie starring Dakota Johnson and they had a early access screening at my local theater so I went to check it out.
If you've watch movies adapted from books before outside of Harry Potter and The Hunger Games franchises then I feel like you've seen Verity. This thriller doesn't do anything special to separate itself from other similar adaptations but it didn't need to for me to find it entertaining.
I think Dakota Johnson gives a solid performance but shines her best with scenes with Josh Hartnett. Anne Hathaway has had better performances but to be fair I feel like she wasn't given much to do but when she's on camera she delievers! I'd love to hear from people who've read the book to see how they feel the characters were adapted.

There are some steamy parts in this film which I feel like Dakota Johnson has mastered. She plays characters that are yearning for something very well and that doesn't change here. Although I do feel like other parts she plays too flat which part of it his the tone in her voice which could just be a personal problem I have with her acting at times especially in this movie. There's also some chilling voiceover work that Anne Hathaway has to do to sell a lot of the hostility in this film which I think she delivers.
By the end this movie will have you doubting who was right or wrong and who to believe and who not too and I think that's the goal and the movie did that well. I also feel like picking up the book and giving it a read which I find any adaptation would want to achieve!
