Fan Expo Portland was a blast of Nostalgia!

We were invited to attend this year's Fan Expo in Portland, OR and it was a fun time that had guests from a lot of the Lord Of The Rings franchise to the voice of CJ from Grand Theft Auto San Andreas and Yusuke Urameshi. I loved that Fan Expo Portland offered an array of guests for different era of fans. It was cool to be able to see a ton of families coming together and bond over different characters and shows/movies that because of this.

The event was hosted at the Oregon convention center which was a spacious venue that allowed a lot of cool air in while keeping the various areas warm from the winter weather which helped provide a comfortable experience while being in artist alley and waiting in lines to meet actors.

There were a ton of great cosplays and Fan Expo provided a red carpet area where it was easy for cosplayers and photographers to interact and take pictures and network together which I found really nice and it was in an open area with plenty of Sun light so those without flashes and with bulky cosplays could still fit and have a great time.

I do wish there was a gaming area in the main area where people could do some arcade gaming and 2v2 games. I feel like what made Boston Fan Expo a slam dunk for me was having a gaming area in the main area where it was easily visible and accessible. Being able to game and keep an eye on the lines in artist alley and meet & Greet.

Overall I think this was a great nerdy fan event for the area with great selections in artist alleys and actors/actresses. I would rate it a 8/10 with plenty of room for improvement with more for fans to do while also being a pleasant experience for fans that I would go to again!
